Another Whiskey Tango Minister Bites the Dust

todd bentley

Until recently Todd Bentley, 32, is (or was) the pastor of Fresh Fire Ministries and a noted Canadian televangelist. He is taking time out after it was discovered that he was emotionally involved with a female staffer. Bentley and his wife have separated.

As a youth Bentley struggled with drugs and alcohol and, according to the Canadian National Post was convicted of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old boy.

Bentley is noted for his many tattoos and piercings, for his claims of raising the dead and trips to heaven to hobnob with the high and mightly, and for his flamboyant and often aggressive preaching style. During healing services Bentley has physically assaulted his supplicants. Watch him knee a stage 4 colon cancer patient in the stomach.

Holy cow- He just kneed that guy in the stomach!

You know, I'll never understand how anyone can see these kinds of shows and think, "gosh, that MUST be real."

'Cause from where I'm sitting, these faith healers just look like douchebags who take advantage of people with no critical thinking skills.

Never mind.

Have you read Nightmare Alley, by William L. Gresham? It was made into a film noir movie starring Tyrone Power. Very good. (See Amazon sidebar)

It's the best explanation of the CON that I've ever read or seen, plus the book coined the word "geek."

The movie comes complete with a "one of us, one of us" freaks scene at the end.

No, I haven't. Thanks for the suggestion, though- It sounds like it's right up my alley.

I threw it into my cart!

I STILL can't blieve that guy kneed a stage four cancer patient in the stomach. That image has been dogging my brain all day.

I wonder if the cancer patient is still a believer...

I wonder if he's still alive. Preying on the sick - shameful.
