Let's see... perhaps we can put current events in terms the religious right can understand:
1. You cannot petition the Lord with prayer. You cannot abuse your brothers and sisters, the poor and the unborn to further radically false concepts of what Jesus was all about.
2. If you do these things, the Lord will smite you. He will strike you down with a terrible vengeance.
3. Does this sound at all familiar: "The river of Kishon swept them away, "that ancient river, the river Kishon," and there was none of them left? Hath it not been told you, too, how by the hand of David, God smote the Philistines...?"
4. Substitute "Ike" for "David" in the above. Re-read. Rebuild. Repent.
